The size is the one thing we cannot correct afterwards: steel allows very little adjustment, so we would rather get it right before we make the piece. Here are two ways to measure it at home in two minutes, plus the full conversion table.
Method 1: you already have a ring that fits
This is the most reliable. Take a ring you wear on that finger and measure its inner diameter with a ruler, from inside edge to inside edge, at its widest point. Then find that number in the table below.
One detail people often miss: measure the ring from the exact finger where you will wear the new one. The difference between one hand and the other is usually half a size.
Method 2: the printable sizer
If you have no ring to go by, print this sheet at 100% (in your print settings, turn off “fit to page”), check with a ruler that the gold bar measures 50 mm, and cut out the strip.
Wrap the strip around your finger without tightening it, starting at the gold end, and read the number where the paper overlaps. That is your Spanish ring size.
Size table (Spanish sizing)
The Spanish size is the inner circumference in millimetres minus 40. We make sizes 14 to 30, including quarters and halves: if you fall between two, tell us and we will adjust it.
If you know your size in UK letters or US numbers, just tell us and we will convert it for you. Better that than converting it yourself and getting it wrong by half a size.

Five things that change the measurement
- The time of day. Fingers swell: measure late in the afternoon, not first thing or straight out of bed.
- Temperature. Cold shrinks the finger and heat expands it. Avoid measuring with freezing hands or right after exercise.
- The knuckle. The ring has to pass the knuckle. If yours is pronounced, measure there too and go with the larger figure.
- The width of the ring. A wide band feels tighter than a slim one in the same size. From 6 mm upwards it is worth going up a quarter or half a size.
- Which hand. The dominant one tends to be slightly bigger. Always measure the hand that will wear the piece.
If you are torn between two sizes
Write to us before you buy. We would rather spend five minutes confirming it than remake a piece: in 316L stainless steel there is very little room for later adjustment, which is why we insist on this so much.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find my ring size without a sizer?
Measure the inner diameter of a ring that already fits that finger, using a ruler, and look it up in the table. If you have none, wrap a thin strip of paper around the finger, mark where it overlaps, measure that length in millimetres and subtract 40: that number is your Spanish size.
What exactly is Spanish sizing?
It is the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres minus 40. A size 16, for example, has an inner circumference of 56 mm and a diameter of about 17.8 mm.
Can a steel ring be resized afterwards?
Very little. 316L stainless steel is far harder than gold or silver and does not allow the usual jeweller’s resizing. That is why we make it to the exact size from the start and help you confirm it beforehand.
Do you make quarter and half sizes?
Yes. We make sizes 14 to 30 with quarters and halves, because every piece is made to order and we do not depend on a stock of sizes.
What if I get the measurement wrong?
Write to us as soon as you notice. Each case depends on how far along the making is, but we always look for a solution: what we do not want is for you to end up with a piece you cannot wear.
Does the width of the band affect the size?
Yes. The more surface touching the finger, the tighter it feels. On bands of 6 mm or more we suggest going up a quarter or half a size compared with a slim ring.
